Hello, I recently sold my 01 A6 because it was getting old and maintenance expensive. I am now looking for a Tacoma for the size and reliability, and I've always loved trucks

For my needs (skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, occasional small boat tow) it looks like the best option for me would be a 4 dr, 4X4, SR5 SB. As a lot of my driving would be paved roads and am not interested in the stiff ride of the Off Road.

Semi recent college grad so the cash is tight: looking for a 06+ year with less then 70K.

In the past have only worked on the aesthetics of my car, but am interested in doing some of my own work.

Welcome to TW! Good luck finding your truck. I'd do some research because there isn't much difference in the used and new prices especially when you factor in the difference in interest rates.

If you haven't looked at it, the TRD Sport is a nice package. Rides better on and off road than the SR5, looks better, and has some nice extras. Bed Outlet, better seats, outside temperature display w/ compass. Little stuff, but I like having it in mine.

Thanks everyone appreciate the warm welcome!

What types of options do you prefer for model/pricing research? I have been using the typical craigslist, auto trader, etc to find trucks to compare prices, but difficult to truly compare set ups and vehicle quality.

JS312 - Thanks for the additional info on the Sport those certainly sound like extras I would like on my truck
