    none yet
So I bought new set of BFG A/T KO this past October but I still carry around the stock spare tire under the Taco. Since those new tires are a little taller than the stockers, wouldn't it be a good idea just to get a 5th tire?

Would be nice. But a slightly smaller tire will atleast get you off the road.

If they're not hugely different in height and you don't have the money and aren't using it as a replacement tire, but as a spare - to get you somewhere to fix or replace your normal tire, then you're fine. If they're vastly different, buy a fifth. If you have the money, buy a fifth

I have the same issue. I went from the stock 265 65 17 alloy sport rims to 265 75 16 on 16x8 rims. Can I still use the stock spare thats under the bed without issues?

No.. You have a 17 inch tire and a 16 inch rim. Doesn't work

    I third this.

I don't see an issue with it, As long as you don't plan on throwing it on for a super long period of time.

A lot of cars come with dummies which are smaller than the tires they come with. The issue that comes into play is vehicle stability and the fact that one wheel is always turning faster than the other because of the smaller circumference. Dif wear is an issue, but as long as you don't have an LSD you should be okay to get somewhere to have the tire repaired.

The LSD will try to spin the tires at the same rate and won't be able to, burning out the clutch packs.

If I had to put a dummy on the front of the car I would(if possible and it was going to be driven for an extended period of time) swap the dummy for one of the rear tires, that way the transaxle isn't receiving excess wear.

I imagine if you were in 2WD you could do the opposite of that, because the truck is RWD. You'd probably encounter some handing issues, but if it gets where you need to go, and you're careful, no harm done!

    A little a this, a little a that...
The wrong size spare is better than no spare! If you're gonna be off road for days, you might consider throwing an extra matching spare in the bed.

Will a 265/75 16 fit underneath in the stock location? I bought my truck used and took a look at my spare and the condition is terrible. Gonna be purchasing tires soon and wanted to know if that size will phyiscally fit in there.

IMO No more than 1/4" height difference is acceptable on most our our trucks.

IMO Never rotate the spare into the mix.... changing directions of the tire can make the belts get unbalanced and ruin the tires. I do front to back only and keep my spare in brand new condition.

    Same here...got a 265/75-16 BFG AT KO.

I'm tempted to buy something cheap for when I throw on my winters...I'm not necessarily worried about the 265/75 vs 265/70, but having a single random different tread tire would be a headache.

If you intend to use the spare like a compact spare (max 50 miles, <60 mph), no problem. Just disable VSC and Auto-LSD when running the spare.

Diff wear goes up by about 100x, so keep the driving distance short. (50 miles = 5000 miles' worth of wear on diff)
