Hey, I have one of the pop and lock pl 5300 tailgate locks and for some reason it won't let me turn the key to the lock or unlock position; I had a little trouble actually getting the key to go in at first too. It was working fine the other day, but after going down a rough gravel road it stopped working correctly. Any thoughts? Could something have jarred lose or can dirt cause that to happen?

WD-40 or similar would be a good start-then spray lube. Wd works well in locks.

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
A friend had one installed on his 2014 and it was crap, he took it back and they replaced it. The second one is better.

+1 on lubing it often, I was not impressed with the lock cylinder on his.

The 5300's have had issues... Seems to be luck of the draw. Some have had no issues while others have gone through 2-3 locks...

They have been replaced by the 5400 and 5500 at this point... Not many issues with the 5500's so far but the 5400's with the BOLT technology we have had a few exchanges on...
