Seeking info from anyone who has done this.

I bought my first tacoma, always wanted one. I had NO CLUE about the 95-00 frame rot issues. Poor research I guess on my end. Anyways, I found a nice 2000 Reg Cab 4x4 with 150k on it.

In my search for some new leaf springs, a local user pointed out that my truck fits the bill and I have until January to get the frame inspected. Now I assume this inspection by Toyota is on the house since I'm still in the 15year frame? What kind of loot could I fetch for this truck? The online KBB seems screwy and the prices I get seem to be accurate for a 2wd truck.

I know that some people have had issues with the program, and some have not. I'm not counting on having it be bought back, because the truck is great. I did notice some spots (no holes yet) but I thought It was just normal surface rust on the under carriage. Share experiences if you would?

If it wasn't inspected by 2012, it doesn't qualify anymore.

X2 I took mine in a few years back and had to run around through different managers before they acknowledged the recall and decided to look at my frame. Needless to say it never failed haha

Not true. I'm in the midst of going through the inspection now. Toyota made 0 mention of it needing to be inspected prior. I'm not in the typical rust belt and they're giving the inspection procedure to the local dealership since 1/2 their techs aren't very competent to start with

yeah sure toyota will inspect it for free but they won't actually do anything about it, theres a ton of threads addressing this.

I guess, I'll set something up and see what happens. Like I said, I'm not really expecting anything.
