My clutch squeaks every time I push it in. I was wondering how I need to go about fixing this. I've read about the white lithium grease and figure I'll try that, but I don't know exactly where on the assembly I need to put the stuff.

This is my first post as well, glad to be here but I don't know much as of now haha

Wow that was crazy fast haha and thank you

I already tightened the bolt that was talked about in the link, and it fixed the release squeak I was getting before and all the squeaking for a little while. Now I get a higher pitch one on the depress that is just as bad. I might try messing with the bolt again though just to be sure.

err im not sure those nuts are supposed to be tightened. My 6 speed was ridiculous with the squeak. i could do the quarter thing back and forth for like 5 minutes and it would finally stop, and that would last about an hour. with my truck still under warranty i went over tot he dealer and has tsb 186-12? i think it is? done and that solved it. One thing i noticed from this is that before the repair, that piston under there was spinable, but tight. With the fixed version. the piston actually has up and down play in it.

Im not sure if the 5 speeds and the 6 speeds use the same system tho

They replaced the whole assembly? I might get some white lithium grease and try that first. I dunno if I can get her to a dealer anytime soon. But I'd love to quit hearing it, I was someone disappointed in the plastic pedal, for some reason I just kinda pictured it being metal in my head.

looking at my reciept (this was just the other week) they replaced the clutch master cylinder, clutch pedal, clutch reservior hose, and grease. Referred to it as an "update" as well. once again, idk if this is the same with the 5 speeds and 6 speeds

dang, that sounds like a lot of work for a squeak but if it wont cost me that's what I'll do. What about your suspension is it pretty quiet? Also, the release of my clutch is about 3/4 of the way up and I feel like it's a little too far out, was wondering if yours is the same

also, how long did the replacement take?

I have wheelers HD 1.5" 3 leaf progressive kit in my rear pack, and also opted to leave in the factory overload leaf. I made a stupid and didnt take the time to drill the holes and install the anti friction pads, so yea mine squeaks kinda bad at times  I attempted to get some grease in there and that helped for a while. Its been quiet as of recently.

Thats the way all the 2nd gen tacoma clutches are. Its weird but normal. You get used to it, until you jump in another manual vehicle and almost take the front wheels off the ground cause it engages near the floor lol :kona:

I dropped my truck off the night before and they were done by lunchtime, i think they said 3 hrs labor
