Been running Cooper 265/75r16's since I bought my 06 back in January. Love em...no rubbing and ride great.

Went to a firestone dealership. The guy there knew Taco's, and that drivers front will rub before anything. He put one on, 265/75/r16 Destination A/T's, lifted the back passage side off the ground, spun the steering wheel back and forth. This was the absolute largest tire I could get on stock suspension and rims. Clearance in some angles was less than 1/16th", but it did clear. We also tried the 285/70/16 and had a lot of rubbing issues. Tried a few other sizes as well before settling on the these. Great tire BTW.

You will need to remove your mudflaps if you're running 285/75r16. BS is fine, i have 4.5 BS on my wheels and the 285s clear the UCAs. Ever considered going a higher setting on the 5100s? That could mitigate some rubbing, you will still need to trim the inner fender plastic so the tire can clear during a full turn.

As far as the re flash goes no they didn't do a thing to the computer as I had asked the tech. He said that the 265/75/16 was the tire that worked the best and should come from the factory as with that size the speedo is bang on! Also checked with a gps and yes the speedo is bang on. Also OP just Fyi my truck in the pics is factory suspension ride height

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
Only issue for me was fuel consumption.

Then again LT Load range E tires have a habit of doing that in something like the Tacoma.

I have considered going to the 883 with the 5100s at 0 to give just over an inch. 1.75 is nose high without a rear lift, and I don't want to do a rear lift.
Mudflaps will come off this evening and we shall see

Was running stock 16" TRD alloys with 265/75/16 Dynapro's and no issues.

Recently changed to ProComp 7068 (16x8) on same tires and they rub *just* before opposite lock both sides (no front mudflaps). Speedo is off by approx. 3mph at freeway speeds.

If you have those stupid hard plastic mud flaps on, then your truck has never been far off the road, because they will snap off the first rut you drop into or big rock you drive over. My 2001 with real rubber flaps never lost them. because they would actually 'flap' and not break off!

I did leave my flaps on my 2005 (and put them back on after every time they broke off) and ran 265/75-16 Cooper Discoverer STT mud tires... no rub.

When I got my 2010, and took it off road, and one broke off ... that was it... took them all off... and the truck has been fine without them for 68,000 miles.

well I'e had my 2015 truck for about 2 weeks, so no my truck has never been off road.

The tire is striking them on the inside but way up high where the bottom of the wheel well is, so I'm looking for info as to if others have had success with my exact set up just by removing them. I don't want to buy anything for the truck if its not going to work.

    i.e. the information TacoMTB provided.....

If my understanding is correct I actually need to move the wheels further inboard. MORE back spacing.
That's why I'm being so detailed in what I've asked.

From what I can tell lots of people are running stock wheels which are 7.5 with 5.5 BS (or 7 with 5.25) but a few are getting rubbing with aftermarkets, which are almost all 4.5 bs

Running 265/75/16 Mickey Thompson Baja mtz on the stock rim. No issues with rubbing at all. Mud flaps are gone though. Only thing I noticed was I lost about 50 miles per tank of gas. These bitches are HEAVY

Remember, the 1" taller tire does slow down the odometer (and makes the speedometer show correctly instead of approx. 3 mph too fast as it does on the stock tires).

Every 40 miles the odometer turns, your true miles traveled are 39. Add 1 mile for 40 shown (and add 10 for 400).

If you top your tank at 200 miles on the odometer, you actually drove 205 miles with the 265/75-16 tires.

This will give you close to 1/2 mpg increase, off the bat! ;)
