Haven't been wheeling around the Kansas City area since I was in High School. I am sure those places weren't legal anyways.

Any KC Taco owners know of any good trails or rides relatively close? I know about the ORV area out by Manhattan, KS, went to school out there, great spot just a little far for a day trip.

Looking to put the new Taco and suspension to some trails...

Let me know if anyone has any good places, maybe out by Hillsdale Lake, LaCygne, Perry?

It would be nice to find some "light" trails for an inexperienced off-road driver with a Prerunner, in the Wichita-Emporia-Ottawa-KC-Topeka-Manhattan-etc. area

    Howdy Hendooman,

Ten years or so ago I used to go out to Tuttle Creek Recreational Area with a group of Land Rover guys and gals from KC. If memory serves me Tuttle Creek Lake is just north of Manhattan, KS.

About half way between KC and Joplin is Mapleton, KS, home of Kansas Rocks. I’ve never been there but have heard good reports. If your looking for a weekend trip head down to southwest and south central MO. I can point you toward some great trails and off road parks. PM if you want some additional info.

    Oops…

Just re-read your original post – sounds like you know all about Tuttle Creek. Offer still stands for the southern part of Missouri. Come on down, take a look at the hillbillies and discover some great off road driving.:)

So, those of you who've been there...are there parts of Tuttle Creek Rec. Area that would be suitable for a novice with a prerunner?
