I need to leave some feedback on this transaction for anyone considering purchasing from the seller in the future. I received the mirrors fairly quickly so shipping was fast. Unfortunately when I opened them they were dirty and had several smudges, etc on the front and back. It took me 20 minutes just to clean them well enough to assess their condition. Sadly they have lots of tiny scratches and a couple of rub marks that prevent me from installing them on my new truck.

I have talked with the seller and he reminded me that I purchased them at basically half price and never took them out of the package but to take the pictures and sell them. He stated he received them from a friend prior who had them unopened.

According to the shipping label on the package, Muth shipped them in January 2013 so they have been sitting around for a long while. As they say, if it seems too good to believe it probably is. It was a gamble and it did not pay off.

I will put them on my local craigslist for sale so that a potential buyer can inspect them in person and determine of they are acceptable to them or not. Seems only fair for the buyer to me.

 

Based on everything above, you are being more then a gentleman.
Brand New implies perfect condition. Nothing less unless marked by the manufacturer as blemished. The cost of the item vs the sale price is irrelevant.

Given the OP's relatively few posts and his apparent eagerness to dispose of this thread, it looks like he was looking to prey on someone on this board.

I know him personally from before I owned a Tacoma. He is a great person, one of the best people I know, and was not trying to take advantage of anybody. He originally wanted me to sell them for him because he doesn't have much rep. but it didn't work out, cause it was too hard logistically. He was not trying to pull one over on anybody. He simply had some old parts from his old tacoma that he had to get rid of last year. They were given to him and never used.
So I say again, he was not trying to pull one over on anybody.
