I posted the same question in the link included on that thread, I figured TW might touch a broader audience and someone with some electric knowledge might see this.

I had the misfortune of falling asleep and wrecking my first 06' Tacoma a few months back, it was a TRD Offroad with the locking rear end. It ended up working out well though, I sleep in the truck a lot as I am out on the weekends climbing, hiking, fishing etc so I opted for a double cab longbed 06 TRD Sport for the new truck.

I just swapped rear ends so I would have the locker in the longbed and followed the wiring posted here: http://www.yotatech.com/f2/e-locker-wiring-help-please-247763/ exactly, I ran all of the grounds off the relay to a plug and a ground under the dash and all of the hot leads directly through the firewall to the battery with an inline 15a fuse. (I know this isnt ideal but wanted to get it working before running it to an ignition dependant power source)

Heres the problem, when I engage the locker it locks up but the fuse blows, if I depress the locker switch as if to unlock, then replace the fuse under the hood it unlocks and doesnt blow the fuse... Im at a loss, not sure what to do... maybe the locker is pulling more than 15a to engage and all I need to do is up my wire diameter and fuse amperage from the battery? Any help would be appreciated.

Fuse will not blow when locking/unlocking when wheels are off the ground and the tires are rotated to a position where the locker wont actually lock. The actuator will cycle in and out with no issue but as soon as the axle actually locks the fuse blows.
