I went down from a 285/75/17 to a 255/75/17 tire because of scrubbing and the guy that gave me the tires never aligned his truck and the tread on the bfg km1's are rough. They have about 70% tread but some tread are higher then other and it rides bad especially if Im coming to a stop or starting to go. Should I get them shaved and get an alignment or get an alignment and eventually the tread will equal out. I'll probably get new tires beginning of next year so I don't want to put too much money in them.

get an alignment and just drive the truck, the tires will fix themselves over time. same reason why you should always rotate your tires.

those tires wear that way if you don't rotate them every 4k miles
