DAMN...that sucks OP. This is becoming all-too-common of an issue.

Just spray some Fluid Film on it. It will be fine.

In all reality, that's gotta be unsafe to drive. You would be well served to contact a local dealer and inquire about the frame service campaign going on right now.

My frame perches snapped off at the welds a couple months ago...Toyota didn't cover it, nor did my insurance...fuck me right? Ended up buying the gusseting kit from DMZ and had Sierra Expeditions fix it up...its better than new now.

I have an apt to have frame checked early tomorrow am. I was told very few have needed replacement. If it does it will take 6-8 weeks d/t Toyota moto co having to sign off. Frames are not on back order. All per dealership service dept.

Got to dealer. So far looks like new frame. 3 month wait. Looked around back before open and found 2 more with holes same place as mine. Another one had new frame. Also 2006 for sale had coating. Hard to see to well d/t darkness but looks like quick spray without much prep work

IF the inspection shows no holes, they will coat it.

IF it does, you get a new frame!!!

saw a few more frames being replaced in back of shop.
I am a little nervous because they said they would go over what is "should" be replaced when it's torn apart. I have a little leak in power steering line and they will want to replace entire rack. We will wee.
Oh and yes I got a loaner!!
