Spacers or New Wheels?

So, who is running spiderrax (or other spacers on daily drivers)? Any issues with them?
Or, what is your opinion of spacers? or should I return them, sell my factory rims and put the $$$ towards get some new wheels?

I have a 2008 TRD off road w/ 16" factory wheels. I just installed a sway-a-way system (2.5 fronts and rear Sway-a-way blocks and shocks). It rides better and looks way better than the stock suspension.
I want to run a 285-75-16 tires. The issue of back spacing is upon me. I just received a set of spidertrax spacers to use with my factory wheels.

I drive a lot of highway and haul my family around. I am concerned with the "off road use" only warning on the spidertrax papework.

Come on and help a rookie member out....

 

I think the spacers will make things worse for the rub you are going to have with the 285's but Im a rookie too, Im sure some vets will chime in soon

 

I've had spidertrax on for about 5000 miles now with 265/70R17 tires and stock sport wheels. I didn't need them for any rubbing issues but they did help gain a little more clearance on the back side of the front fender when turning. I mainly got them because after the lift, the truck looked like a fat kid on stilts. I figure there is no difference between 4.5" backspacing aftermarket wheels or 5.5" backspacing stockers with 1" spacers. The wheel bearings will experience the same amount of stress either way. I'm sure the bearings will wear out a little sooner but what the hell, looks 1000x better this way. No complaints here. Did not notice any difference in handling or ride quality. May have effected the turning radius a little as the arc is not factory anymore but I can't tell.

 

Thanks for the feedback. I think I am going with new wheels from Pro Comp instead of spacers. A 'back to school sale' has them 20% off through tomorrow.
My brother (2001 4x4 taco) wants to buy my stock wheels - so that will reduce my total expense.
