ping / chatter noise from engine

Hi everybody I have a 13 Tacoma DCLB. V6. I have this pinging noise from my engine during heavy load / light accel driving up hills. Came to my local dealership and found out there's a reflash for the ecm. If anybody has this problem goto your local dealership and get your ecm reprogrammed

 

Did the re flash help? It did not seem to help on mine.

 

Hi Guys. You should both check out this thread for post-TSB feedback. Yes, it has helped me and a growing list of others get rid of the pinging noise in our 4.0l engine.

The first post has a downloadable/printable copy of the TSB that you can bring with you when you visit the dealership.

I'm not sure what's in the other threads, but if you have had the reflash I'd try different gas station/brand and/or higher gas.
