I'm still new to the game but really want to start wheeling more. Just curious what is "standard" for mods and equipment for wheeling offroad not mudding? Would like to know what everyone thinks are the bare necessities to have on the trails. So for all I have done to the Taco is put on a Pelfreybilt front bumper since I scratched up my OEM bumper the first time out. Bumper has 2 Hella Rallye 4000's, 2 Warn WXT400 hid's, and a 20" light bar on the bumper so light seems sufficient. Hopefully get a dual battery setup soon, I already have two Optima batteries and trays just not sure on the isolator. A warn TI9500 winch and Tacoma TSS rims are in the garage waiting on funds for an in the cab remote and 255/75/17 tires, and recently bought some OME 887 springs from a member to support the weight of the bumper and and winch. Hopefully for Christmas my GF will get me the OME nitro shocks if shes picked up on my clues and hints lol. As far as recovery I bought a Warn medium duty kit to get me started that includes choker chain, tree saver, snatch and shackle. Would like in the future to get either a camper shell or bed rack for gear like shovels, axes, HiLift jack etc.

Sounds like you're on the right path so far. Remember to get some quality tires. Don't settle for cheap stuff. Also Long travel suspension is another suggestion if you are serious about wheeling and if you have the budget for that.

Was going to get BFG tires since I'm just a weekend warrior and was told I would get better tire life. Would really like longtravel but I'm on the pavement more than off road. Trying not to settle for junk, but just bought an engagement ring so for sure I'm on a budget build now lol
