Hello -- I am trying to research the feasibility of feeding a custom video signal to the 6.1" display on a 2014 Tacoma (equipped with Entune Premium w/Nav).

I am not sure if the standard Entune signal (with touch-screen haptic feedback data) is tied directly to the LCD panel, or if it's in/out through cables and pins (which makes it easier to Y off of and hijack).

Another option would be to hijack the backup camera line and disable the Reverse-Only block.

The goal is to output a native-resolution video signal from a small Linux computer to the display that can be toggled (and override the standard Entune OS) while the vehicle is running and in motion. If I cannot capture touch-screen data than it's not a huge deal.

I know there are some threads about people feeding backup-cam video from their rearview mirror to their Entune display (like this one: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...2013-reverse-camera-non-jbl-dash-display.html), but they seem a bit stale at this point and I have a bit of a different goal in mind.

Any direction/tips/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks--

I'll give myself a bump here.

Anybody know how easy/cheap it would be to find one of these displays at a junkyard or something? I'd rather toy with a secondary than bork my own.

Im looking at this process for a MimicsX2 (control android from your touch screen) but the issue is I need a way to pump the phone onto the screen.

I have found a crux interfaces WVITY-01 that does it wirelessly but that's $300 and the Mimics is ~$175

    hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I ended up achieving this by doing the anytime reverse camera mod and then using a switch to toggle between video signals by hijacking the reverse camera input. Total cost for this setup is about 10 bucks, and you could theoretically switch between any number of video inputs. I've added a couple extra cameras for trail use, and my raspberry pi computer for diagnostics and emulator video games :D

Sorry to resurrect an older post, but I was wondering if you could go into further detail on this:
I can't seem to find the anytime reverse camera mod for the Entune system, only for the rear-view mirror version. Could you point me in the right direction? Also, a few more details or pics (or even a full writeup!) on your solution, how you added extra cameras, etc, would be really interesting and helpful. Thanks!
