So I've got this weird high pitch tone that is present when I turn the ignition to ACC. Seems to be coming from behind the glove box. What in the world could this be? It happens when the fan is off and radio is off.

    Notes...
It's an 08 DC w JBL stereo. I did just get a new deck and amp put in. I originally thought the sound was coming from the right tweeter but when I listened further I found it's coming from the dash. I'm pretty sure it started after the stereo install but I could be wrong. The truck had a loud exhaust on it and I got a more quiet muffler put on it around the same time so maybe I just didn't notice it before.

does the tone get higher when you give a little gas or does the tone stay the same?

If the tone gets louder with engine rev you have alternator whine being caused by your amp or head unit.

my next question would be is it a 4 channel amp (speakers) or a mono/2channel (subs)

    Thanks for your reply BigTex
After the install I had some noise from the speakers that followed the rev of the engine. That was fixed and now the noise seems to be coming from the dash. It does not change with the rev of the engine. I had a 5 channel amp installed to power the factory speakers. 4 door speakers and a factory sub. The JBL amp was completely bypassed to do this.

    Update....
So I disconnected the stereo and amp to see if that was causing some some sort of interference. The mysterious noise remains. So I took the glove box out it's definitely coming from where all the electrical wires are.

Any one know what electrical component in there can be causing this noise? I'm starting to think I have to take it to the stealership...
