I am in the market, but have not installed this lift on my truck. I based my comment regarding quality from reading a number of posts of those who do have this lift and are stating issues with powder coating on the coils and springs not being level - off by several inches and squeaking etc. I am sure every product has its issues, but to increase the price significantly on a product when issues still exist won't get me to buy them.

I would be glad to be proven wrong.

Until they can prove quality is significantly improved, or bring the price back down below $800 I will not be a customer.

The powder coating is bad but equally my friends OME was chipping just as well :notsure:. One day ill take it all off and clean it up but not a huge issue as of now.

What do you mean coils and springs not being level? As in the ride height not leveling out?

Squeaking is gonna happen regardless :p. I hate it but I haven't came across a modded truck that doesn't squeak.

I understand your mentality. If it was once $800 then they should be able to sell it at that price again. Just gotta remember it's a business. For all you know quality control could have jumped costs. Or maybe a new fee has arisen since coming back. The reason I got the kit for $800 was because how the discounts just happened to roll in at the time. I stacked 2 discounts I believe to get free shipping and 10% off. I am sure the kit will sell just fine at the price listed.

We are working on this. Unfortunately it isn't as clean cut due to the fact that we don't own/control the Camel 4x4 domain...

By chance do you have a date when this is all going down? I'm taking a big trip at the end of Sept and would like to get the full kit installed beforehand.

    Thanks!

Thanks! Guess they raised the prices on them, they are as much as the OME kit now... Thought they were well under $1k at about the $750 mark.

Reviving this in regards to the new "Foam Cell Pro".

Called Ironman and they said the fronts are going to be about $800-$900 for the pair and their version of a 2.5.

So as I understand it, it's the same foam-cell oil shock, now in a massive version...? I was considering them but unsure if for that price it would be better spent on say, Fox 2.0's. It seems most are happy with their purchase for those that got the kit a while back, hopefully they are still happy.

For those of you who have no idea what a foam-cell shock is, here is a video comparing their nitro-gas versus the foam cell:

Can't comment on the pricing as I'm based in Australia and don't have access to the US pricing, but as a general concept yes they are pretty much our standard foam cell on steroids.

BUT, there have been a large number of additional features and improved quality put into these shocks. The 3mm wall of the shocks means that they're as thick as our bullbars - and bloody tough, they have almost double the oil capacity of our standard foam cell shocks meaning that they are even better at cooling and dissipating heat and from our own testing we haven't yet been able to find roads that they have faded on (on some of Australia's toughest tracks). Further than that, we're running a higher grade of oil than our standard foam cell and use 360 degree welds and solid one piece bottom stem and eye piece. On the front struts we've also added a threaded body so you have more precise adjustment of the spring seat (allowing you to add small amounts of trim without the need for trip packers) and also acts as a heat sync, they have a 20mm piston rod and are re-buildable. So needless to say there are a fair few differences between our standard foam cell and our Foam Cell Pro - the concept and foam cell technology as the same, but with a number of key improvements to the Foam Cell Pros.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Cheers,

    Matt

The Foam Cell pros are a nice ride. The huge 2.5" shock bodies really make a difference. To me they are the same high quality and tough durability as Old Man EMU (OME) but the benefit of better heat dissipation and adaptability. More comparable to a stage 2 system from Icon etc.

    UPDATE:
I've got some news from Ironman 4x4 USA on something new they are offering. Lately, the Foam Cells Pro Coilovers are Pre-assembled here in the US for ease of installation.
Starting December 15th we will be offering unassembled Foam Cell Pro Front struts, and Front Coil springs un-assembled for a $116 discount from MSRP! Great for those who want to spend their extra cash on other mods!

Anyone know if ironman coils will fit other shocks like 5100s? If so are the coils doing the lifting?

The coils always do the lifting. Ironman makes a Performance(medium weight) and Constant weight spring(heaviest). You can use your own shocks, but ironmans are tuned to match their springs and designed for maximum travel. Its worth to upgrade both together, then sell your 5100's. Plus if you go with Ironmans Foam Cell Pro with 2.5" shock bodies, you will feel the significant upgrade.

Yea I don't have 5100s as of yet. I am still running stock suspension. 2 inchs is about all I want as I don't want to deal with UCAs and what not. I have been looking into ironman for a bit now. Any issues with the rear shocks fitting in a 15 like the ome? Also I'm not seeing the foam cell pro shocks by themselves. Do they come in pairs? I emailed them a week ago and never got any response.

You wont need UCA's with the ironman lift since its a 2-2.5" lift, but makes perfect alignment much easier. You can always add Light Racing UCA's later.

Foam Cell Pro shocks and Nitro Gas shocks are priced per each, not pairs.
    http://www.axsoffroad.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=tacoma+rear+shocks&Submit=

Ironman's Nitro gas are simlar to OME, then you have the top of the line Foam Cell Pros. Depends on your budget and uses.

So I just found out I am going to need the money for a lift kit for an unexpected bill. Will the ironman coils work on stock shocks and if so how much lift will be achieved?

No, they cannot be used on stock shocks.
