I don't have anything to mod right now or a place to do it really but did my own OME install and could lend a hand and some tools for people doing theirs.

I had to go through 3 salesman before I found one that knew anything. Then I felt like I was buying into an exclusive club that if i wasnt ready to buy right then I wasnt worth spending a lot of time with. Prob with me is that if i'm going to spend 35k im going to want to know all about the truck.

I am also floored that it takes this long to get a truck in a stock color, toyota claims "just in time" inventory process and no one should have to wait more than a week to 10 days. Im sure i'll love the truck, and maybe the anticipation is good for me ?

Although I dont have ANYTHING to complain about to you if you ordered yours back in June...

Yes it was a mess... The salesmen blamed it on the managers the managers blamed it on toyota blamed it on the managers which did a loop. Long story short is they sold me a truck they couldn't to late in the season. The positives: karl malone toyota made me the best offer on my trade in by far. The negatives... My salesmen requested after a heated talk that I just please throw away the survey when I get it haha.

Before I go tearing stuff on my truck I just want to make sure I'm in the clear . I bought a complete ome kit 885 with sport shocks and Dakar. Also the shim for the driver side and driveline bearing drop kit. I've read quite a bit and I don't know if I'm ahead of where I was an hour ago. :-( will I be sitting fairly level with this set up? Also do I need to purchase anything else? I've read that diff drop kit is a waste, along with new uca and brake lines as long as I don't lift it more then 3"

With just the normal Dakar pack and the 885's without a plate bumper or weight up front you should be pretty close to level. Maybe a slight rake. If you have the d29xl hd add a leaf for the Dakar pack you will have a pretty good rake.

I did new UCA's when I installed mine but have heard you are fine without them like you have said. The diff drop is not needed and the brake lines are a good item but not necessary. I still have stock brake lines due to my lack of time to install longer ones.

i believe I have cs047r Dakar rear.. Hopefully that's very slight then?

Next decision that's been beaten to death is 285vs 265 . I'm scared to cut into my truck. Bauck bauck bauck

You shouldn't have to cut it up with a 285 and some wheel spacers..

255/85/16 don't require cutting either. I believe the cs047r is the standard leaf pack. They have a d29xl add a leaf that you can add into the standard leaf pack for more load capacity if you have a shell, heavy drawers, bed rack, etc. or constantly carry weight.

Only on the stock wheels without wheel spacers. Widen your stance out at all and you have to start trimming. Not even sure how much I believe the stock wheels thing though, never verified it myself. Stock wheels have 5.25" BS and I have 4.5" BS wheels and a 1" body lift and my tires still rub some at full stuff. I've beat the firewall and fender well back so far I had to relocate my window washer fluid reservoir and move my battery over a little. I've cut a lot of my flare out as well, though I didn't have to take 2" out of the fenders or do the cab mount chop.

I wheel my rig harder than most though...

I have had both the stock off-road wheels and now the stock steel wheels from the base model. Had them on with both 885 and 886 coils with bumper and winch on both sets of coils. I don't jump my truck but run mild trails and plenty of fire roads and have never once touched anything with the 255's. Even at full lock and full stuff I didn't rub anything. There are a lot of factors that will influence it including alignment specs but I haven't had any problems at all.

I had spacers on at one point when I had 265's but didn't see the need for them. For my uses I don't need a wider stance and if they are going to make the tires rub then it is just one more reason for me not to have them. They did make the truck look a little better though.

Narrowed it down to my driver's side sway bar link.

Turns out you sold the skid to my wife! Lol! It fit my '08 and looks great! Thanks!!! I am still mulling over the ECGS tool...

Do you have the other tools required? If so would you be willing to help me install one?

Yeah I have everything needed except my homemade tool to pull out the cv shaft. I lost it somewhere. It is just some cable though, just a few dollars at home depot or if you have a pry bar it will work. I am more than willing to help out, what is your schedule like?

I haven't ordered the bushing yet, so it would be a few weeks out at least. How long of a job is it if there aren't any complications?
