Hey all. New here and I apologize in advance if this topic has been hashed out before, but I couldn't seem to find direct experience with this size tire.

I have a 2013 Regular Cab 2WD Tacoma. I love it but the 215/70/15 are just to puny and underwhelming. I have read that without any modifications, a 3% tire increase is doable without rubbing, so I am looking to upgrade to a 235/75/15 (if I did my math correctly).

Before I pull the trigger I was just hoping any one here might have some first hand knowledge with this kind of upgrade on a smaller (15") wheel. Should I be ok with the size upgrade that I calculated?

Thanks in advance, I look forward to my time with my Taco and with you all at TW! :)

Welcome to Tacoma world. Yes you can without much. I have a 2.75 lift on my 5 lug and I'm running 31s on the stock wheels. 31s fill up the gap more and looks way better. Lol

Thanks for the reply. Did you actually lift your truck or just increase your tire size that much? I've read that only a 1" size increase is recommended. And yes, it just looks so much better without that damned gap!:D

With no lift, 235/75/R15s are the biggest tire with no rub. Possibly a size taller, but no one has made any mention of that, yet. I run Cooper HT 235/75/R15s. A great way to improve the ride of the 5-Lug. Bigger tires will make the 5-Lug look more like a truck should.

Thanks Navelfunk. Nice to have some confirmation before I go spend the money.....although this site will probably be the cause of me spending a loooooot more.

Welcome to TW, by the way! And you're welcome. Be careful though, TW will give you really good, but expensive ideas... Happy trails to you.

"Raptor Style" grill mod, aftermarket wheels, 265/75/16 Goodyear Wrangler Authorities, TRD Shoulder pads on seat belts, no mud flaps, AVS Hoodflector bug shield *removed*, Dee Zee Ultrablack Bull Bar w/ license plate mount, dipped my fuel door for no reason, N-Fab Spare tire mount w/ full size matching spare, dipped eyelids onto my headlights for no reason, dipped my hood for no reason
I run 265/75/16's without rub. Same size I guess, but maybe my input could solidify your choice? I really like this size, although I feel like the back tires just don't fill the gap enough. Front is great, though. And not a whole lot taller, unless I'm just not noticing the difference.

EDIT: I did have to take off the front mud flaps and cut a little of the plastic trimming in the wheel well off to reduce what little rub there was.

Your welcome. Yeah I did, with strut spacers. Oh heck yeah it does look way better. A dude on here gots 32 on his 5 lug. Overall I'm almost stock prerunner height. Parked next to one today.

Plus you could do a body lift.
