Want to get a 2-way remote starter.

Was looking at a Code-Alarm CA6554 with Alarm installed for $399
    It is made by Audiovox.

I also was quoted from a different shop $499 with Alarm for an Arctic Start (DEI)

    Anybody have any recommendations??
Don't really need the alarm in these parts but mainly for the remote start feature - want the 2 way so I know that it started.

6% Tint all around, Toyota all-weather floor mats, Toyota bed extender and skid plate, Python 991 remote-start alarm, oem cruise control and class III hitch were all installed within a couple months. I then installed Icon c/o's and Icon's 3-leaf aal with 17x9" GA9's and 285/70/17 Goodyear Duratrac's. The DRL mod was done, as was a custom rack setup similar to the org. cross bars. Blacked out headlights bought online, and a BOSS 1500 under-seat sub installed along with a Pioneer double-din DVD player
I've had my Python 991 for 5 years. I've been impressed. Got it over the Viper listed above (or comparable model for that time) bc I liked the style of the fob better at the time. Remotes have been a little buggy (last one totally croaked after 5 yrs of abuse, and during its years it would buzz at me during use 1% of the time). I just bought a newer-model replacement 2-way fob for $90 and it's slightly slow to respond to key input than the last one...just a little learning curve, nbd. Remote start would grind the starter for 1 second abt 2% of the time, but it hasn't done that for the last year or so, not sure if it learned or what. Overall pleased. Would probably do a Viper if I ever have to replace, just bc I wonder if they don't outsource labor/parts or mechanicals on their non-top-tier brands. I can never own another vehicle w/o 2-way remote start now. Unsure if anything beats DEI products... Would guess not.
