Hey guys, I know that there must be a thousand threads about the subject but I need quick help from you veterans. I recently purchased a 2015 Tacoma TRD Off Road. This Rig will be my daily driver and also my work truck. Her duties will mainly consist of small and medium size home appliances and consumer electronics deliveries, and hauling my two kids and wife's baggage.

To protect the bed I recently order from member KB Voodoo the tail cap system and the bed rails. I also ordered the OEM bed mat from a local vendor. Right know I'm in the process of selecting a Tonneau Cover, either a BakFlip or Extang. needless to say I need a Cover that is water proof and lockable. I will also going to buy the Tuffy security box for small tools and such.

The help I need is deciding between one of the Tonneau Companies hard folding models and between the manual or electric POP & Lock models.

Any help provided will be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks Bender, the only problem I see with it is that it does not let you use the full length of the bed we folded. I know that the backflip does. Tomorrow I'm going to shop around with the two distributors in P.R. of both models to see who will get me the better deal!!!

I've been eyeing a Diamondback SE cover for my TRD Sport... expensive but it is much more flexible as I can strap or mount things to the top.

Several TW members have reported problems with Pop & Lock models. I don't know how prevalent the problem is.

It's the PL5500. It has the camera port on the same side as the stock handle. Takes about 15 minutes to install. It is the manual lock, I don't trust the electronic versions. Too many postings about failures after installs.

I just installed a Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite on my Tacoma (http://www.foldacover.com/). I already have an electronic Pop-n-Lock. This combo is very secure. And with the Fold-A-Cover, if you don't have anyway to lock the tailgate, the actual back panel will fold down and hook onto the tail gate to secure it. Then you lock the top of the fold down panel.

I have the electronic pop and lock with a bakflip HD and love the set up. The electric pop and lock took a while to set up because you have to wire it to the locking mechanism for the doors. Any of the folding tonneau covers are not going to be 100% water proof. My bakflip has very little water come through. The water goes into the railing system at times and has draining tubes the go into the drain holes in the front of bed near the back of the cab. Personally a hard cover tri fold is ur best option.

I just installed the Fold-A-Cover and am very satisfied. Some say it's not easy to remove but that's not true. Just remove a couple of bolts and it's off. It is working great for me and the latches are very secure. The tailgate is secure if the top is shut. Just my 2 cents!
