x2, It's the rigid, discriminatory people who break a good forum down. Isn't the "stupid question the one that doesn't get asked?"=It's wasted information. I've always thought the best thing about TW has been that no matter how many times a similar question gets asked, many competent members provide different & informative answers. I enjoy revisiting similar questions for this reason. It would be a shame if a person was driven away from our community because they were simply seeking help. A shame. ;)

Thanks Will-- It's the welcoming of questions around here that makes it the best forum. :)

    Sorry Lux, horrible idea.

It would make it seem like the senior members of tacomaworld think too highly of themselves to answer simple questions. Seems kinda dick-ish to me!

I wasn't serious btw... I think TW is good as it is... it's the most inviting automotive forum I've ever seen/used by far. That said...

I still think it'd be usefull to setup a wiki/tech knowledge section that's not 'part of the forum' itself but something that's catagorized nicely and has the general information that's easy to get at. Such things as the recommended backspacing, ect ect. The mods and tutorials link in the main nav bar is a good start but it's easy to overlook, and it's not broke down really well. It could even have such things as pictures of the known manufactured aftermarket bumpers and lightbars with an example picture... ect. I think things like that would be able to bring the site to an even higher level, while keeping the great 'open thread' community going.

The search function is great, but it relies on a lot. First, that you can spell. Second, that everyone else (mostly the topic owner) can spell. Third, you can narrow down 30 threads of information, some with 80 pages to find specifically the answer you're looking for. A lot of us are fairly adapt at doing this, but not everyone has the same 'interwebz' knowledge all the same.
