Folks, I'd really appreciate some opinions here. I'm about to close the deal on a 2002 standard cab 4WD Tacoma. The body is nearly perfect, interior is spotless. The frame and springs were replaced by Toyota about 15K miles ago. It has brand new Coopers on it and an extra set of rims and older Michelins. All maintenance has been done regularly. It runs like a top. Ball joints etc. seem perfect. The downside is that it has 175K miles on it. These miles are nearly all highway and it has never been offroaded. The engine is the 2.7 four and it's a standard crash box.
I have this motor in my 4Runner and have been thoroughly impressed with it. Tough as nails and absolutely dependable. That said, my engine only has 132K miles.
The price on this truck is going to be about $6000. I'm inclined to jump on it. Somebody stop me if I'm going to do something stupid.
