I recently ran Sea Foam through my intake. The CEL came on shortly after but went away after a few miles. It now stumbles/shakes at idle sometimes when I start it in the morning. It this from the deposits clinging to the spark plugs or from dirty O2 sensors?

Check your plugs. Fyi in the future Seafoam should only be put in the gas tank.

I just ran Seafoam through my engine via the vacuum hose on the power brakes. It smoked for about 5 miles and the CEL came on. I drove the piss out of it for about 20 miles and came home. Took off the neg battery cable to clear the code and no problems. It idles smoother now than it did.

Mine has the same problem others have. It idles smooth at a stop light around 750rpm but if you sit there a while it drops down to just over 500 rpm and idles rough. It still does it but not quite as often now.

I'm hoping the second treatment of Techron through the tank that I put in right before I Seafoamed it will do the trick. If not then it's something else and from other posts I've read here no one seems to know what it might be.

I ran Seafoam through my vacuum line after reading about it on here. I also got the CEL . I cleared it and it came back on two or three times. I had to replace the air/fuel sensor ( the pre-cat sensor). My truck did not even smoke much when I ran the Seafoam, but apparently it was enough to foul the sensor.

BTW, replacing this sensor is the only part that has ever been replaced on my truck, other than tires, brake pads and wiper blades. So, even though I was disappointed, it's no real biggie to me. Live and learn. I will not recommend the vacuum treatment to anyone, but will use Seafoam to run through the gas tank.

I have to agree. I doubt I'll use it again through any vacuum lines. If it set off the CEL once it may do it again and I could have the same problem you had.

I only use the seafoam spray version through the vacuum line. Liquid version in the gas and crankcase.

Probably the only place I'd trust it. At least it's easy to correct if I don't like the results.
