    Hey all,
First post here, long time reader and tech-advice seeker.

I have an 07 Tacoma v6 4x4 that is a non-TRD model. I'd love to have the locking Diff, and wonder what the best way to do it is?

Maybe buy a TRD axle from salvage?
    Add aftermarket locker?

    Thoughts/advice/experience appreciated.

    Thanks!!

Depends really. If you don't mind wrenching you could find one in a junk yard (or on here) for sale, get a wiring harness and hook it all up and you will have an e-locked rear end. Or you could spend the $1k or so on an ARB, buy the compressor, run all the plubming and wiring and have it installed professionally (or if you are good enough, DIY).

    Crafty: $600ish

ARB: Probably upwards of $1500 when it's all said and done.

No problem. After having an e-locked rear end with an ARB front, there really is no comparison. Sometimes the e-locker doesn't engage when you need it to, and really takes it time to dis-engage as well. It's much much easier to hit 2 buttons and have the rear locked. I will be swapping out my whole axle pretty soon.
