I've spent a while searching for this in the forums and haven't seen anything so I hope the first response isn't a link to another post...

I was wondering if anyone has toyed around with the idea (or come up with a way) to create a video input on our factory head unit? I don't think there would be an easy way to do this but if it can display video from the backup camera, then I feel like it would have to be able to display other forms of media. That being said, I don't really know anything about what doing this would entail as I'm not in any way familiar with programming, a/v hardware or software, or anything else that isn't plug and play. I know, I'm a lot of help.

Ideally it would be amazing to somehow plug a Chromecast into the HU and play a movie from my phone to quiet down the passengers on long road trips. Also, it would be a cool feature to show off...

FYI, having a movie playing in the front of a moving vehicle is illegal.

that stated the factory head unit accepts a composite input (as thats what the backup cam supports) you will have to get creative.
