Hey guys! Just got my 06 Tacoma in May and have slowly been doing some changes and additions. Im looking into getting some "smoked out" or "blacked out" (Which ever way you wanna call them) headlights and tail lights. Just wondering what people have tried, which works and what to stay away from!
    Thanks :)

A couple pictures of its progress so far

Look up the BHLM mod, you basically take apart the headlight and paint the housing black, way cleaner look than just tinting the headlights and it would look good on your truck. As far as tail lights go, you would have to tint them, but I stay away from that so I wont get pulled over

Nice truck not sure the laws in vancouver but you might not want to tint them till your sure its legal. That being said if your a freeloving outlaw like me your going to do it anyways :D If you want to smoke it you can do it two ways you can get the spray smoke or the tint you can buy the tint on ebay precut and the same for the headlight. Spray the tail lights and headlights with soapy water then peel N stick the tint then once your good with the spot hold it till the soapywater drys and your done. Using the smoke spray you spray it in layers either taking the head light and tail light off or using painters tape to protect your paint job from overspray.

On another note this is your first post so feel free to make a intro thread and tell everyone a little bit about yourself like why you got a tacoma why that one whats its name is very important :D

    I appreciate all the advice!
I think I would rather buy the headlights then to do them myself, I'm not very crafty so i think it might end in a disaster!
    So any company recommendations?

You could always pay a member like ambiguous or AndrewTRS or Insight Retrofits to build you a blacked out retrofitted headlight that way you get awesome output and sweet looking lights. Don't know what your budget is though so that may play a part.

if ya need help blacking your tail lights i can help you done mine myself and they work just fine i used night shade. DO NOT go over 2 coats of night shade or you will get pulled over my rcmp and get a vi ticket to get them replaced. Never been pulled over with mine. Was thinking about spraying my headlights once to make them a little darker. Anywho if ya need help its pretty simple and a cheap mod
