So I bought a brand new bed extender from a member on here (part # pt392-35120). Says it works for 2005+ models but the instructions only have the drilling template for a 2005 and picture only instructions for 2012+. It says to use the template with the book but that page says 2005- .... Now my questions is, even though it says "2005-" do I still use that template for me 2013 model?

Don't want to start drilling holes and then it doesn't work. I've looked up on trdparts4u.com and when selecting the model of the bed extender and clicking on the instruction guide it doesn't show the template like it shows I'm the book I have. Anyone run into this issue? Is there another template we gave to use for our 2012+ models or will the 2005 template work?

Yes 2005 template will work, I bought one used and just lined up the brackets and drilled them in, just make sure the extender is level when open and resting on the tailgate when you mark your holes.

Yup, they never change the style of the truck from 05 to now. Just cosmetic changes such as the front and interior. Everything else is the same

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I installed my 2006 bed extender on my 2013 with no issue. As Luvium said, make sure it sits level. When you tape the pattern on the support, it matters whether you go to the bottom of the support or even with the bed floor. I pushed my pattern to the bottom below the floor and it was too low, the extender wasn't level. You wouldn't think that the little bit would matter, but extend that line out about 20" and it's noticable.

I haven't installed it on my 2014 yet, haven't really decided if I want to. For the once a year that I used it, I'm wondering if its worth tripping over for the other 364 days.

Hello. I purchased the PT392-35120 kit. I have everything but the template. Does anyone have a copy that they could scan and email to me or post here? Installation doesn't look hard, but would like to put brackets in the right place the first time. Thanks.

The template can be found in the PT329-35050 instructions:

    http://www.toyotapart.com/2005-2010_TACOMA_BED_EXTENDER_PT329-35050_REV._A_--PT329-35050.pdf

Be sure to print full sheet without any resizing.

Tomwil, thanks! Measurements written on page matched actual template size after printing so everything is great. Appreciate the quick response. Now I have a Saturday project.
