My 2006 4dr Tacoma's frame failed recall inspection and will be replaced in a month. I was thinking of having the dealer give the truck a 2" lift when they put it back together. What would be required to do that other than shocks and should it cost much? ...I am new to anything other than routine maintenance on my truck.

Bilsteins 5100's adjustable front shocks are a good inexpensive way to get up to 2.5" of lift. Have them on mine, along with 100's of others.

Ironman is what I'm about to get. They are from Australia and seem to be pretty well reviewed for the people that have them already both in this country and there. Availability does seem to have become and issue though and the only place I found that has it in-stock is CJC Offroad in California.

You can get the 2" specific shocks/springs for pretty cheap and then go with an AAL instead of a full leaf pack and really keep the cost down.

As mentioned before though, the 5100's are definitely a cheap and popular option.

Would 2" of lift look Ok with stock tires? Just got new tires about 2 months ago and don't want to invest in a another new set. I like the look of the truck sitting a little higher, but don't want the tires looking too small.

I imagine it would look just fine. I plan on keeping my stock tires as well being my truck has only 5k miles on it at the moment.

Should have my Ironman lift by the end of next week.
