Need some recommendations for a decent cb spring. Looking for something heavy duty(102" whip), completely stainless, with a braided cooper core. I'm on my 2nd spring in 2 yrs and it's so rusty my SWR's are high again. The ones locally say SS but only the spring is, the plates surrounding it are chrome plated and last about a week in FL. So any recommendations so I don't have to change springs every year?

Have you tried the whip without the spring? Depending on how flexible it is you may be able to just ditch the spring.

I haven't. I'm worried about going down the highway and it touching my tailgate, cause it already leans back quite a bit with a heavy duty spring

Its worth a shot. It won't cost anything to give it a try.
