I have a 2006 TRD offroad, yesterday I changed serpentine belt and spark plugs, when I took it for test drice , check engine light came on and started flashing. Went to parts store to read the code, came back misfire cylinder 1. I took all the coils back off and reseated, reset check engine light. After driving for a few minutes, light came back on, went back to check the code, same error message. Figured the coil must be bad, bought a new coil. Installed, reset light and same problem. Any ideas? Any confirmation that cylinder 1 is passenger side front?

Do you have the old plugs? How about swapping them around to see if the misfire moves to a different cylinder.

That's a good idea with the plugs, I was thinking maybe I got a bad plug or maybe even the wrong plug or something. I'll try that thanks

Hitch and wiring, aux back-up light, rear strobe lights, radio and underseat sub.
Did you replace the insulators on the coils? They like to get cracks and leak spark.
If so, swap injectors. If the misfire moves, you found the problem.

Stop using new parts to diagnose problems. Swap coils/injectors. Your wallet will thank you;)

I had a misfire on cylinder 2 code (check engine light on too) after changing my oil once; took off the battery cable, waited 15 minutes and gone.

You suspect the coil. Was it doing this before the plug change? If not, check the plug gap. I've seen faulty plug gaps set a code.
