So it happened yesterday. My wife is driving and a young guy backs up his 2500hd into my truck. Here's the carnage.

Bummer. I came out of a very frustrating appt at social security changing my wife's name only to watch some old guy in a Tahoe use my truck as parking Braille. Hit it at least 4 times while he tried a tight turnaround.

The positive in the end was I came out of it with a new lift. Now is your chance to upgrade plate bumpers, etc.

What the hell happened to the driveshaft, did it really tweak the driveline that bad? It looks like he was really moving to do that kind of damage.

According to my wife he stepped on it on reverse with loud music. My wife honked and even swerved to the right. As far as I assessed the damage, the axle is bent, leaf springs bent and cracked, no e brake, and the drive shaft popped off from the middle. No bueno.

fuck id be worried about the frame in the back if it hit hard enough to pop the rear driveshaft out!

Main impact was his tow hitch in my tire. It caught the tire and forced the tranny and my guess the drive shaft is the weak point since it is not a one piece. The axle bent back, forcing the tire to hit the rear panel. As far as his damage, it was only minor scratches to the plastic of the rear bumper.

i guess if the hitch caught the tire and pulled the axle back then yeah i could see the driveshaft popping out.... either way get that frame checked.
