i want to put a 3 or 4 inch lift kit on my truck. i dont know much about lift kits and leveling kits so anything that will lift it and keep the truck level is fine. im not looking to spend an outrageous amount of money. any suggestions?

What will the use of the truck be? What is a solid budgeted amount for the lift kit?

lots out there.. depends on $$ and what you want it for.

    on a budget = Bilstein 5100's

better = OME shocks and coils

both will yield between 2.5"-3" of lift.

for 4" of lift.. look at DB lifts.. I think RCD has a 4".. but.. with those your gonna spend more definitely.

For $300, I wouldn't bother. Save the money until you can afford something better. JMHO.

First off, welcome to the club. We're glad to have you.

$300 will get you spacers (maybe) and that's about it. RCD is the only lift I know that gives over 3" of lift. Spacers, especially at that height, will give you a bone jarring ride and reduce your suspension travel to a few inches. I would look up pictures of the different lifts on here, if you're going for looks, they may change your mind.

If you just want to clear bigger tires, 2.5 - 3" is all that's going to need before you start having to chop off parts of your frame and revamping your suspension to fit them.

I'm not going to go into detail about the types of lift because they have been discussed over and over again on this website, and we even have an entire dedicated section to it http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/

If you really want advice, read up and you'll find all you need.
