Pioneer Double Din wont play music from Iphone 5s

Have any of you had the same issue? My pioneer 4400 played music fine on my iphone 4 and now I got a 5s and it wont play music but it will charge, any ideas?

 

No experience, but the 5 is a Lightning adapter isn't it? Are you sure you have the correct adapters for it? Might check Pioneers web site for iPhone support issues/cables.

If I recall correctly, Pioneers require different cables to enable the 5+'s to pipe in audio.

 

I have a pioneer DEH-80PRS and I've been able to make it work with iphone 4, 5, 5S, and 6. I do notice once in a while when i first plug in my phone and try to play spotify or music stored on the phone the music won't come through the radio. it's playing, but no sound. i have to shuffle through all of the inputs to get back to the phone input, and then it starts working. it did that on my 5 and now on my 6.

have there been any firmware updates? have you tried different inputs?

 

I have tried different inputs but it wasnt working still, it was working fine on my 4s and still does, but with my Iphone 5s it doesnt want to play even though it shows on my phone that it is charging and the music is playing. I may try to get a new chord from pioneer and see where that puts me.

The only firmware update involves updating via bluetooth but I dont have bluetooth capability lol
