I tried the "locker anytime alt." mod which just grounds out the wire by a switch. I can flip the switch after starting the truck, then turn the locker on which works fine. The issue is that after trying to drift it out a little the other traction stuff kicks in, throws a check engine light and leaves the trac off light on also. Just wondering if the only way on this truck to by pass the other functions interfering with this mod is to do the mod that involves the relay style of doing this mod? It was so much easier back in the day with the gray wire mod :)

    Thanks.

yup does the same on my truck. its speed / distance related. doing doughtnuts with the tires spinning 40mph the truck goes.... wait a second..... 4LO's top speed is like 40.... how the hell are you doing that in only 1st / 2nd gear. something is wrong, THROW CODES! (which are general fault codes for 4x4 malfunction) FYI cruise control will not work after the codes are thrown until they are cleared.

Yeah I pulled the negative cable for a few and got rid of the lights. What a pain, well it was fun for a minute :D Is yours done with the relay or did you just ground out the one wire from the ecu?

just a ground to fool the 4wd ecu into thinking its in 4LO like you did. I have a code reader to to clear the codes its 30 seconds.

I figured it would, even the ABS light started flashing. Then once I gassed it all of the electronic babysitters came to life. I stabbed a wire into the top left wire (the yellow/black strip one), is it a different one on this year?

Mine is a 2011 but I did it the same way you did. The only issue I get is if I go over a certain MPH, 35 or so. It also turns off my traction control and ABS. I use my ultragauge to clear the code and go back to normal. Then only thing where it gets finicky is when going from 2wd locked straight to 4wd and back.

I haven't had a problem with mine...but I only use if for offroad or winding roads cause it keeps the damn trac/vsc from pulling me into the mountian

So it is sounding like it is a speed related issue. Can't use this mod like the old gray wire mod as far as wanting to say jam up a dirt road with it on otherwise when you are done you will have to clear the codes. I would love to just use the "Auto LSD" but even that when it is wet and the truck starts to walk sideways the other functions will kick in and power down and the VSC will kick on. Hold for 3 seconds and all is off and back to a one wheel wonder.

If I were to do that then turn the locker on would that keep any issues as far as speed from throwing any codes?

If you activate the locker in anything but 4lo, you will get thrown codes at higher speeds. Won't hurt anything though. When I flick my switch everything turns off.
