    No red this time - I'll mess with the front bumper later. We need to alter how it mounts on the bottom to be able to adjust the hight. I think 1/2" will do it.

    Craig, what adjustments did you have to make to the steering for the BL?

    I'm probably going to raise my cab with the 4-crawler pucks as well. No need to worry about the bed at this point though. :D

    Looks like I'll need the six pucks for the cab and the radiator tabs. Anything special about the radiator tabs?

    For the steering you just loosen the two 12mm bolts on the shaft - there's plenty of room to allow for the adjustment.

    IMO it would be kinda silly not to just lift the whole thing. For the cost it's pretty simple.

    The radiator tabs are also very straightforward. You just drop the assembly down 1"

    Yeah, I was wondering if the $20 worth of tabs was worth it, or if I should just make my own. If you get a chance a picture of the brackets would be handy.

    Oh, and here's why I'm not worrying about the bed.

    Yeah - forgot that you were going that route. Been watching that since Colin did those fender pieces. No need for 6 extra pucks & bolts then! :laughing:

    I'll get a shot of the radiator brackets for ya. They were an easy install & without it the fan would hit the shroud pretty bad.

    The side support/reinforcement brackets for my front bumper. Jerry & I had to delete them when we did the suspension upgrade in August so I just left them off. They were really rusty. I took a flap wheel to them and then just threw them in to get coated. I just need a little spacer to reinstall them over the resi support.

    I can send you a pic of how mine are mounted. We should have the same resi mounts. I'm pretty sure I hammered out the dimple on the resi mount bracket and just bolted the elite bracket over it.

    Not too bad - just don't even bother trying to drill out the factory tack welds on the cam tabs, grind them off completely with an angle grinder.

    You'll want to drop the whole LCA so it's out of the way.

    I don't weld so you'd have to ask Ant how hart that part was.:eek:

    We did it in like 5 hours IIR :notsure:

    Thinking about the best way to drop RPM's at highway speeds... Bigger tires or dropping to 4.10 from 4.56.
    My only complaint about my current setup is having to cruise at 2600-2700 RPMs in 6th gear @ highway speeds just to keep pace with traffic.:eek:
    I'd really like to fix that.

    Apparently, though rare, 4.10's can be had.

    My issue with larger tires is that there are very few choices for 36x13.5x17 and to stuff 37's I've got to do serious tubbing.

    Regearing again would be a PITA but it would get me where I want to be on my current tires.

    Thoughts anyone?

    Yea Craig don't even think about changing the gearing again. Bigger tires is the answer.



    Plus, 4.10s are not manufactured aftermarket from what I've seen. They are only stock Toyota gears. 4.56s are available aftermarket so you can get them more easily and are available in thick cut. So essentially they are stronger than 4.10 gears would be.

    ECGS has them listed on their site but it says call for availability. 4.10 seems to be the ideal gear for these 6speeds to keep as close to stock power and speed as possible

    What should the RPMs be at? I've only got 33's and for as long as I can remember I've been at right around 2500+ at about 70 in 6th gear. .

    Craig, do you have a front ARB locker?

    Great point... it's my understanding that the ARB locker for the thick cut 4.56 like the nitros or yukons is the rd121 while the locker for toyota's 4.10 would be the rd111
    So if he already has an ARB front locker, going to 4.10s may required a different locker...
    *just a thought* I'm just getting educated on gears so I'll might be totally wrong...
