Are all 3.4 Throttle Bodies the same?

So I've been having some weird idle issues and they just got weirder when I tried to clean the TB and it's associated components it just got weirder. Now I'm convinced it's the IAC or the TPS.

Well on eBay I can get either one separately for $150-$200 or I can get a used (good shape) Throttle body with both attached for $70. So my question is are they all the same? I have a manual with cruise control and don't want to get one that doesn't allow for cruise or anything like that.

 

No, they are not the same. Mine is an '03 and it does not have the IAC.

 

Well that's going to make things really complicated. The one I'm buying is from a '97 and mine is a '96 the picture shows both the IAC and the TPS, so that's good, I'm more concerned that it won't have the cable hookup for Cruise Control

 

the 96-97 trucks are all the same (I think) so you should be fine. it's when they changed a lot of mechanical stuff over to electrical nonsense in 2001 that things get incompatible.

 

Did you remove the battery posts after cleaning the TB ?
Have you scanned for codes as I would hate to see one of our members buying a throttle body if they didnt need it

 

I did disconnect the posts afterwords and even took a 800 mile trip afterwords and the computer hasn't fixed it yet, and there is no CEL:/I appreciate the thought though!
