    Hey guys. Does anyone have a aftermarket header on their 2.7l?
    I want to know the pros and cons of one. Is it worth my money and time to install it?

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    no need for an aftermarket one, you just use the factory replacement header

    from what I read about you don't want the cast iron manifold because they always crack over time so the factory sells a replacement header for it, part number above.

    Im running an LC engineering header on my 99 2.7 truck. I put it on when my cast manifold cracked. I haven't gone through the rest of the exhaust yet, so it is still choked down by that but I did feel a slight bump in performance.
    It certainly sounds better now.

    If I didn't have it sitting around in the parts pile from a past project I wouldn't have spent the money on it. But since I needed something and had it, I used it.

    How much is the Toyota mini header? I need to get one soon enough...

    EDIT around 170 bucks

    did it make the rough idle in gear issue any better or is that just something us guys with auto trannys deal with?

    damn the traffic jam! I just went check and sure enough mine is cracked so I guess I need a header as well

    that sounds a lot better then $300 for the stainless LC engineering header especially when it isn't all stainless and will start rusting right away

    anyone know if the stock header gives you any performance boost over the stock cast one?

    pacesettter headers are considered the cheapest of the cheap of the cheap. i have only ran them on cars where no other option was out there. buy a good quality stainless header (or ceramic coated)

    HBS leveling kit, 31x10.50 mudders, header/imco exhaust, rear billies, LR ucas, home brewed onboard air, cb radio
    I've had the pacesetter on my 2.7 for about 1.5 years. The header itself is decently built but the gaskets it comes with are garbage. I've had no problems with the header sealing or any other problems as I installed quality gaskets when I installed the header. As to performance I think it definitely added a little oomph, especially noticeable in the upper rpms.

    ok, thanks guys. I was just wondering if it was worth trying for a little performance boost but I mainly want long trouble free life out of it so I guess i'll go with these factory ones instead. and I confirmed this will also work on all the 2.4L 2RZFE first gen engines as well


    I just priced everything listed above and it comes to $225 shipped so that's not bad at all, and you just never really know what you are getting with aftermarket stuff

    Yea, mine is a manual. No rough idle.
    I will also say the quality of my LC header is great, Big thick flanges, nice welds, ect. It is a nice piece.
