Dealer tech permanently disabled my 'maintenance reminder'

    Thank goodness someone has some sense in this thread.

    Do u honestly think a dealer tech/lube guy would spend the time to take your dash apart to disable your maint light and not get paid for it? Lol..c'mon. They have better things to do than to play around with things like this. I'm not saying its impossible... but highly improbable.

    Its very rare for a bulb to fail but if its inop than it just burned out and needs replacement.

    It may be possible that the LED or LED driver failed for the maint light, but there is no way for a tech to "disable" the light. It is part of the software that is integrated in the ECU, which cannot be edited or accessed by a field tech. Can't be done.
