anti lock brake disable mod, fogtime anytime mod, Leer Topper, all pro plate bumper, toytec 3 inch lift, bfg AT, rims, piaa 5100's, some double din head unit (cant remember), warn 8000 winch, DO sliders, hacked frame to fit full size spare, thule and yakima roof racks
So I am finally getting around to fixing the front end of my truck. I am replacing both cv axels, both inner and outer tie rods, r&p boots, total chaos upper ball joint and bushings (tired of the squeak). My question is what else should I look for. I want to do this once and not have to go back in 30000 miles and tear the front end off again. What goes out. I think my lower ball joints are good. Also what seals do I need. I assume the the cv axels have seals that should not be reused but I cant find a part number. Thanks to the help.

Ya know just a vent here but this forum has gone down hill. A few years ago it was more about trucks and helping each other out now it seems to be more bullshiting and grab ass. Oh well. Such is everything in this world

So you are upset and talking shit because others don't know the same thing that you don't know?

Control arm bushings, ball joints and all the steering components ( look up a exploded diagram) if you plan on doing it all. Same thing with the CV components never had a 4x4 Tacoma apart but just matters how far you want to go in to it. Bearing, rotors ect.

There is tons of parts that could be replaced kinda a vaugue question unless you truely want to replace all wear and tear parts.

    Not enough

    90311-47013 & 90311-47012 are your alxe seal parts #'s.

Depending on mileage you have I would probably do LCA BJ's and bushings.

I also have an 05' and have rebuilt most of the front end. That said, I haven't done my LCA BJ's & Bushings, but I only have 75k on my mileage.

Let me know If you have more queations

Added: I would do the ECGS Bushing to replace known issues with the needle bearing.

You should check for any looseness in the suspension before taking it apart.
With the tires still on. Jack up and support the vehicle from the lower control arm. Next shake the tire up and down and side to side to check for both axial and radial movement, obviously any worn components will present themselves. Using a pry bar is also a good way to check for looseness. Try it, in between the ground or solid surface and the bottom of the tire to verify your lower ball joint is still good. Replace parts as you see fit. Hope that helps.
