And I am the dummy lol

I am trying to wrap my head around this just for the reason of knowing.

Just for general info this is applying to my 2012 double cab 4cyl prerunner with 5100s set at .85 and toytec coils
With 1.6" of lift I am thinking about going a little higher (going to be getting uca's) but not sure if I want to take the hit on down travel. And also trying to figure out travel numbers in general. I'm not a idiot but I am ignorant:p

    - 7.5 stock travel

2)/does anyone know or how can I figure out (I know there are a lot of factors) how much of the travel is up and how much is down? Would I just measure to the bump stop and then the amount from hub to sender when jacking till its fully drooped?

2)if i add 1.6" toytec coils and 5100s on .85 2.45" of lift. By gaining 2.45" of lift I lose 2.45" of down travel? Correct? But this also means I gain same amount in up travel?

    3) does anything change with above from using a coil with 2.5" of lift with 5100s on 0? His should mean I am getting equal up and down travel right or am I still losing the down travel with just the coil lift? This is kinda where I am confused.

    4) up travel in "travel for dummys" = absorbing and protection from impacts and down travel helps keep in contact with the ground and handling?

I won't ever get in to the high price coil overs there is no need for me but I want to make the best and understand completely what is going on with the changes I have made and am making.

I run a lot of dirt roads and have to deal with the random wash outs and pot holes ect and just trying to figure out what's going on with the suspension with different changes and what I'm gaining and what is being lost..

its called compression (downwards travel)mostly the spring handles this-
then its called rebound (upwards travel) the shock or strut valving handles this

I believe that EXT travel CO's add ~1'' of travel.
