    Ok how about this then...

    Winters are 265 65 17s

    Summers are 275 70 17s.

What do I run for a spare? I can get a 265 70 17 real cheap which is right in between both sizes, not perfect for either, HOWEVER I will run it on the front if the situation arises.

The real question is though, will the ABS not like the two different sized tyres?

    Thanks!

Can someone explain exactly how it wears the spider gear and is different that driving round and round in a circle? It sure seems like its doing the same thing as when you drive in a large circle. One wheel turning faster than the other.

its not, but how many miles can you donut the truck? If you're on the highway you could be driving 60mph and the rear axle clutch packs (or whatever are in the tacoma, please forgive my ignorance I had a dakota with LSD before this) are trying to even the speed of both wheels. If you lock your diff and drive in a donut one of the wheels will just skid. You need to make real big turns with a full locked diff.

Anyone else explain this better than my drunk ramblings?

Can anyone confirm if the tab cutting method will work for 255/85/16 on a Gen2?
