Rear Differential Oil

What is the best rear differential oil for a 2007 Toyota Taco 4x4 4.0 engine and do you use conventional with LSD additive?

 

Roughly any fresh gear oil will be good. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 85w90, though it has been recommended to use Lucas 85w140 by many gear heads. And yes, add the friction modifier as well.

i run mobile 1 75w90 full syn....

fresh oil is really the key.... doesnt matter what brand.

 

A synthetic is best. Mobil 1 amsoil redline. I skip the LSD add pack if you don't need it.
I placed amsoil in mine.

 

I use Mobil 1 synthetic 85-140, recommended by ECGS. Hard to find it without the additive so I run with in, no issues since I change front & rear every year.

 

Do you guys put in the recommended amount or just fill until it drips out the full hole?

that should be about rec. level.

 

GL-5 with lds additive, either incorporated or seperate. I buy the five gallon bucket. Last bucket purchased was castol ap from Amazon.
