Just got 04 with V6. Noticed the aluminium engine parts (outside) are real flaky. Any one put any thing on Al to stop it from oxidizing. Truck came from SC. Now heading into first winter in MA after painting / massive fluid film frame treatment. Thanks to all who reply.

corrosion on aluminum is like rust on steel, use oil to stop it.

change oil then smear it all over everything corroded and let it sit overnight like that, then take it to the carwash and wash it all off, that's about all you can do for it.
