03 Tacoma PreRunner Hitch ??

My 03 PR Double cab has the class 3 Reese hitch. Directly under the bumper are threaded holes that line up with the hitch that would re-enforce 2 bolts to the bumper.

Anyone know what thread size & length these are?? The hitch frame that lines up with them has two dedicated loops to accommodate bolts. Toyota did not know? A hitch place that stated that my part #38540 is obsolete.

Find my profile over on TTora. I asked the same question a few years back when installing a hitch on my 99 Prerunner. Someone answered it I believe.

Neither does mine. I just looked at my bumper tho and I do have two bolts going up into the bottom on either side of the ball mount. I pulled one and best guess I'd say it's a 10mmx1.50 thread bolt, maybe 15mm long. The head takes a 14mm socket.

Thanks man. Yeah, I've never seen one that bolts to the bumper either, but sure enough this one does. I'll do to the depot and see if I can fine those bolts or screws, which ever they are. Thanks again.

 

Cool. I never actually installed those two bolts as my hitch was held on my four big boy bolts so I wasn't too worried it would fail or anything. Post up if it works for others in the future.

 

Clean truck sir. Did you add that trd decal? I believe that ain't the original one

The truck has been great, just turned 101K limited w/ leather.
