I've been trying to find my answer on the ads site but can't. Does anyone know if the front 2.5 RR are extended travel or not?

Pretty much everything ADS does is built to order. Tell them what you want and they'll build it.
Yes they do extended travel coilovers though (as long as you have aftermarket UCA's to go with it).

Nice! How much lift did that provide with where those coils are set to? I love them bumpstops haha

Off topic but is ADS better than king? I've read that they have a triple seal or something but is there anything else? I'm going LT and keep going back and forth between the two

Well I can't really give an unbiased comparison, I can say that if you choose ADS you will be completely satisfied and happy with your choice! Their quality is absolutely top notch and their customer service might be the best in the business. I have been in contact with them since getting my suspension, both about my truck and some other projects, and they are all friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable people.

Long story short, just go with ADS and you'll understand:cool:

As with any manufacture, ADS is definitely showing off with a comparison. I'm not advocating that King is better than ADS, but take the comparison as a grain of salt. The piston comparison with the free bleed compares one type of King piston, typically built with a bypass shock (that has only one main free bleed). King also offers pistons with up to 3 freebleeds, all of which can be tuned/plugged to the tuner's desire.

The other piston picture that shows the o ring groove in the ADS and the king without an o-ring groove is also deceiving because king offers that type of piston as well. It creates a better/more consistent seal between the wear band and the inner bore of the shock body ensuring the oil passes through the valving.

The bent shim picture is a King shock...but it's an incomplete shim stack. It's missing 1 shim, and on the rebound side. It's actually not unheard of to bend or break shims(regardless of manufacture) when you're trying to lighten up the rebound valving with no bypass tubes.

Again...not trying to say King is better than ADS or vice-versa, just make sure you're comparing apples to apples when you're actually researching shocks.

I completely understand and agree. I was providing a link to a comparison that is surely biased as it is from their own website. With that said, I wasn't trying to connect it to King at all, I didn't even know any of that stuff in the photos was King equipment. I was posting it more to show some other features of ADS.

    Hopefully, I didn't get misunderstood!

No worries. My comment wasn't really directed at you, just quoted it because of the link hopefully to educate those that are shopping around.

It's no secret that ADS and King share a lot of similarities, which the comparison seems directed at King. I was just pointing out what I saw. Hell I didn't even read it, just commented on the first few pics...purely observational.

I believe what ADS is trying to show here is that their standard bolt in shock uses race quality parts. Most of the stuff you find on an ADS shock you find on a King race shock and not a King prerunner. Since most of the big name shock manufacturers have a separate race line that costs a lot more money ADS' choice to use the race quality parts is a nice feature for a bolt in option.

That's not really a fair comparison tho. If you want those features you can have them with King. If you want to buy the cheapest king shock you can get, then yeah, make all the comparisons you want, including price. And I guarantee you that the ADS shock will cost more money. But it's not like ADS is going to be price competitive at that level. Upgrading the piston itself is $5 more per piston and can be added on to any oem/performance shock.

Like I said before...compare apples to apples, including price. King will build whatever the fuck you want. Just because it's not something you can add to a cart doesn't mean you can't get it. Pick up the phone and talk to a human.

Price wise the king race series are more.

OEM for OEM, the ADS are much better for the price

I'm not disagreeing at all. I thought I made that point previously. I'm just advocating that there is a whole world beyond cookie cutter shocks, regardless of manufacture.
