With very little and certainly no significant change to the 2015 Tacoma is it possible that tight lipped Toyota might pull a significantly revamped 2016 Tacoma out of there corporate hat during Q1, 2015 to great advertising fan fair?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I don't think so. The small truck market isn't growing any bigger so they is not justification to even design anything new I don't think. Unless they were planning on going back to the 1st gens, then it would be possible because those designs are still around. Now that would be cool, a 2016 double cab long or short bed first gen new!

I can only dream, still wouldn't trade in my 04 though.

Never thought about an unveiling at the Chicago Auto Show. That would make sense to me now that you have enlightened me. I was left with a questioning mind when the 2015's came out, something said are they just filling a time gap. The new variety is not quite ready, we need to create some drama to spur interest or take some attention away from the GM offerings plus see which of our development strategies to follow. I'm somewhat sure that most of the the vehicle's design has been finalized but there are most likely a lot of smaller choices to be made based on price point and what people are buying on their competitors vehicles.
