04 tacoma 2.4 std cab

I have a 04 Tacoma 2.4 engine std. cab pickup , automatic. my truck runs great. the only noticeable problem is the idle a stoplights. when the vehicle reaches the correct operating temp. it starts to idle poorly. if I put the truck in neutral it's idling goes back to normal. has anybody else experienced this and how was it repaired.
