Did you notice much of a gain with the new underdrive pulley? and was it worth it ??

    Sorry for the late response.

The best way to compare it would be like a lightened flywheel, if you've ever experienced it. It free'd up some of the low end pull and gave it a little more pedal response, and from higher speeds +65mph it would slow down a bit faster on it's own when you let off the gas.

One thing I did experience was there's a fan like sound coming from the pulley area. I haven't heard anyone else complain about it who've gotten the pulley (I don't think there are very many of us) but it's something worth noting. My guess would be because the URD pulley has spokes as opposed to the stock pulley which is solid.

As far as worth it? Well for ~$300 you actually notice performance difference. Arguably you spend ~$100 on an intake, ~$150 on an exhaust, or $600+ and merely get a butt dyno effect. :notsure:

Well it's been a while since I've done anything. Financial difficulties. Story of most of our lives, no? Regardless I decided to pull the trigger. Not entirely regardless, I did systematically put money aside for this. :p

Headers. Doug Thorley $700 @ URD. Installation $155.

As far as aftermarket options the research as always been in the back of my mind. TRD ($1100), JBA ($900), or DT ($700). Naturally I took the cheapest option.

For the install, all three companies projected 7 hours to install. If you do the math at the going rate ($65/hr) that would have meant a $455 tab. How did I save $300? Taking it to TJ. For those of you who followed my other threads my gf's dad has his friend and they did the work. The tab was $115, but I felt guilty enough paying so little I tipped the mechanic who did the job $40.

Quality hasn't been an issue. Everything looked fine before leaving the shop, and it's been 5 days since and there aren't any problems.

Sound? The intake was half a step, the exhaust was a step and half, the headers are a single step. Start up has a nice fire up. There's more growl on lower RPMs. Higher RPMs there's more of a balance from the exhaust from below/behind and a the headers from below/upfront. Nothing that inhibit an in cab conversation on the highway tho.

Gas Mileage? I'll have to get back to you. Once I stop gunning it after every stop sign and stop light... Right now it's not looking to good. lol.

    And of course: Pics :)

Wow, it's been over a year since I've done any mods? Shamefully yes, recently graduated and working towards an MA program tends to syphon potential funds from the truck. Ah well.

Anyways, I got the mod itch just recently and I couldn't help but scratch. What I thought would just be routine break pad change at the shop went a little further. They changed the pads, and then tried to sell me new rotors. While I didn't cave to the shop, I caved to the itch. That, and I was able to follow up on the work the shop did. Can never be too sure. :) (They did pretty good.)

My old street mentality immediately made me think Brembo, but I only saw blanks for the Tacoma. On my honda I had drilled and slotted, but I've read numerous horror stories of drilled rotors cracking, and back then I don't remember cryo treatment being around back then, alas: Stoptech Cryo-treated Slotted rotors.

Do you got a build thread on the Del Sol? I'm a Honda guy as well and I want to see more of that car.
