Would appreciate some comments on what method I should use for mounting my 28 gallon water tank inside my trailer. I considered building a cage with 1" box channel but am looking to save weight. Could I strap it down using ratchet straps or something else?

Unrelated as I have no idea about your question, but I am so jealous of your RTT and awning

Although ratchet straps will probably hold the water tank just fine, you could bend some steel straps around the tank and bolt them to the floor of your trailer.

Just use straps. You may want to use the trailer for something else at some point, and the bolted-in tank might be in the way.

    Just my 2¢

I agree Jessie although will probably have some brackets fabricated for the bottom to keep it in place. Thanks!
